The museum needs external support in order to be able to carry out its diverse activities – exhibitions, collection work, education, research. The membership fee is only 25 euros per year and allows free admission and access to events with a look behind the scenes of the museum.

Founded in 1995, the Förderverein Phyletisches Museum e.V. sees its task as supporting the founding idea formulated by Ernst Haeckel: The museum should be “a general means of education in such a way that art and science are united in it in order to vividly demonstrate to the educated public the significance of the modern idea of development.”

Members of the association receive free admission. The annual membership fee is €25, €5 for the unemployed, pupils, students and pensioners and €100 for corporate bodies.

According to the current decision of the Gera tax office, the Förderverein Phyletisches Museum e.V. is recognized for the promotion of science within the meaning of Section 5 (1) No. 9 of the Corporation Tax Act (KStG) and is entitled to issue donation receipts.
